CU still up to good

In light of the utter disgrace Ward Churchill has brought upon the University of Colorado, and the whole state for that matter, with his disparaging remarks about the victims of the 9/11 tragedy, I wanted to bring attention to a CU professor who is representing the university in a positive manner. There's a very nice article in the March 2005 issue of National Geographic Adventure magazine (not a link to current issue unfortunately) about professor Stephen Lekson, a renowned archeologist specializing in the Anasazi culture. The whole March issue focuses on the Southwest in fact, so its a nice diversion from Churchill's highly disputable native american heritage. In a touch of irony, the article refers to the Pueblo Indians as being egalitarian, something Churchill could learn from. And for my two cents, I think Churchill deserves to be fired and expelled from all Colorado public schools.
I could go on and on, but lets focus on the positive coming out of Boulder these days... or at least try to.

Sharing is Caring

Now that I don't have my sister's car at my disposal, I'll have to go back to using Zip Car again.
Speaking of, there is a good article in the most recent Time magazine about car sharing, and Zip Car is mentioned.
Woo hoo, go Zip Car!

Another bean town championship

3 out of 4 ain't too bad. I'm not really a Pats fan, but you gotta hand it to the New England Patriots for downing the Eagles on their way to their 3rd Super Bowl victory in 4 years. It turned out to be good game, and much closer than most people thought.
Coach Belichick is a mastermind of setting a game plan and adhering to it all the way to a win. And while Brady is a good QB I still think the team owes its 3 championships to the kicker, Adam Vinatieri. In fact all three victories were by a margin of only 3 points. hmm, nifty how that equalls one of Adam's field goals.
And props to all the CU players on the Pats. In fact Christian Fauria had a great sure-handed grab of the onside kick to virtually seal the victory late in the 4th quarter.
So congratulations to the Pats.
