A new kind of census

While perusing the pages of bostonist.com I came across a link to a nifty new map at commoncensus.com. It tries to redefine new boundaries of the American landscape, a cultural sphere of influence if you will, of major cities and regions. Of course I entered all my data with Boston being the city I identify with most closely. Definitely an interesting concept. It will be cool to check this out down the road when more and more people have entered data. Since this is an internet based concept, I'm gonna go out on a limb and bet that the most influential cities are going to be the big technology centers like New York, Boston and San Fran, and just the larger cities in general.
Happy cartographing.
