I've walked through the Common and Public Garden hundreds of times, and yet I had never noticed the little statue commemorating Pope John Paul II's 1979 visit to Boston. That is until a co-worker clued my in on the fact that the statue exists. I'm sure I've seen it before, but I had never stopped to check it out. So Friday I made it a point to go view the statue-turned-memorial to the Pope. It was touching to see the tribute to the Pope and remember all that he has done in the world.
